In August we introduced admin moderation tools that allow you to control the content and participants behaviour at your events.

Now there are 3 different roles for SpatialChat users:

  1. Admins
  2. Hosts
  3. Regular attendees
How to distinguish roles of users

Admin Interface

In order to access admin controls you need to be logged in as space admin.

On the bottom you will see 2 yellow buttons:

  • Admin Settings
  • Customize space

You can use them to:

  • set a password for attendee access (and change it anytime)
  • set space permissions
  • view billing details for space (and view participant-minutes usage)
Admins & Hosts (speakers) have special yellow and aquamarine badges on their circles

What can admin user do?

  • Remove users
  • Promote users to hosts
  • Mute & turn off cameras for specific users
  • Change access password
Set access password to the space (and change it anytime)
Customize room (pin as many images as needed to stay there permanently)

Permissions

You set permissions for regular attendees:

  • for sharing the content
  • for sending text messages
  • for using their camera
  • for using their microphone

Admin & Host users have immunity against these permissions.

As a workaround, our users are already promoting their attendees to hosts, so by being host they can actually be speakers with their keynotes and panel discussions.

Set space permissions

Set backgrounds

Press customization button in admin mode and choose 3rd button (Background)
Set background for the room - choose from our gallery, upload your own or paste an image link
Control darkness & scrollable mode for your background

Overall

We did these features based on hundreds of conversations with our users & customers so we appreciate your feedback.

You can now have secure events, with total control of user behaviour & content.
